PV Sindhu, a former world champion, added her collection of gold medals after winning the womens singles event at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, United Kingdom, in 2022. Two-time Olympian PV Sindhu defeated Canadian champion Michelle Li 21-15, 21-13 to win the womens singles gold medal at the Commonwealth Games. In the 2018 Gold Coast final, PV Sindhu came up short to Saina Nehwal and had to settle for silver. After falling to Michelle Li in the semifinals, PV Sindhu went on to win the bronze medal in Glasgow in 2014. Pusarla Venkata Sindhu (born 5 July 1995) is an Indian badminton player. Considered one of Indias most successful sportspersons. She is the first and only Indian to become the badminton world champion and only the second individual athlete from India to win two consecutive medals at the Olympic Games PV sindhu can be seen as an inspiration for the girls.
