Women must raise their voice against discrimination, molestation and domestic violence and not remain mute spectators. Speaking after inaugurating a program, organized by the Faculty of Law & Governance, on the occasion of the International Women’s Day on Monday at Jayoti Vidyapeeth Women’s University, Hon’ble Shree Satya Prakash Soni, Secretary, District Legal Services Authority (Additional District and Sessions Judge), Jaipur district, said that only empowered women could contribute to the development and progress of the country. ‘’You (women) should not remain silent, when you witness acts of violence against your fraternity and report the matter to the competent authority,’’ Shree Soni said while interacting with the students of the law faculty at the University. He explained how the women could seek help of the authorities In case they were discriminated against or faced molestation. In his welcome speech on the occasion the former dean of the law faculty at the University Prof. (Dr) R.K.Patni explained to the students in detail about the laws concerning the women and also exhorted them to make use of the legal machinery to address their issues. The students, who were present in large numbers at the program, took a pledge to be disciplined in life. Earlier the chairperson of the University hon’ble Vidushi Garg inaugurated the function by lighting the lamp before the Goddess of Learning. Prof. Patni welcomed the hon’ble chairperson with a bouquet of flowers. The chairperson welcomed hon’ble Satya Prakash Soni by giving him a bouquet of flowers.
